ALARMING SUICIDES!!
SILENT DISASTER
Concern grows after alarming suicide cases amongst young teenagers arise. The green app has exposed so many deaths over the past three months in the country. The number has shockingly increased in these past three months.
Recently, we've seen so many posts of dead teenagers of which the main cause of their demise is not well highlighted. Normally when someone takes away their life, it is rumoured that maybe they had a mental breakdown and depression. No reason seem to be false however, a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) said, " suicides happen impulsively in moments of crisis with a breakdown in the ability to deal with life stresses such as:
i. Financial problems
ii. Relationship break up
iii. Chronic pain and illness
Unfortunately, suicide prevention measures have often failed even with increased number of groups, campaigns and organizations to curb depression, which is imagined as the leading cause of the reported suicides
Eddy Kimani, a celebrated media personality in the country who battled bouts of mental I'll health said, " Kenyan men were more prone to depression that lead to suicide due to stereotypes about what " it means to be a man". The society has exposed men into a deep hole that's so deadly. It made them believe that being a man comes with being on your own even when difficulties strike them. I think it's high time we embraced our men too. The entitled kings are human beings too!!
